Your 2006-2007 UHIP Card will be Available For Pick September 5
Important Information:
# K* h7 H ^8 u$ W. Q% {7 A: z+ YYour UHIP card will be available for pickup from the Registrar\'s Office (Stevenson-Lawson 190) as of September 5, 2006 : w O" K5 c! Z' q x* f8 J
Your dependents must be enrolled for coverage within 30 days of arriving in Canada in the Human Resources Department (Stevenson-Lawson 262) e' F7 g& d3 H! |4 j5 @: d
If you are a new student and arrived in Canada prior to Sept 1, you are eligible for coverage as far back as August 11, 2006. Please advise the registrar\'s office that you require \"bridging\" coverage beginning on the date you arrived.- ^! R: Q O0 O2 m4 p
The University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) was created to offer affordable insurance to pay the cost of the hospital and medical services that you and your family might need to maintain your health while at the University of Western Ontario. It is University policy that all students who are not covered by the provincial health insurance plan (OHIP) must be covered by UHIP in its place, and fees for the plan were automatically charged to the accounts of all international students who have not previously provided proof of alternative coverage.

If you have any questions regarding your UHIP coverage, www.uhip.ca is a very useful resource regarding specific details of the plan and also houses any forms you may need (claims, exemptions, refunds, etc). If you have any questions regarding your coverage or claims, please do not hesitate to contact your Western UHIP Plan Administrators via the contact information at the bottom of this email.

In previous years, we have mailed the proof of coverage cards to students at their homes. This year, students are required to pick up these cards. As of September 5, 2006 your card will be available for pickup in the Registrar\'s Office (Stevenson-Lawson Building, room 190).
