Subject: Major Crime investigating

The Major Crime Section is continuing to investigate a large disturbance that occurred at 2 am on Saturday October 13 at the housing complex of 900 Fanshawe College Boulevard where one male received a serious injury to his face and neck. Two other males received less serious wounds to their chest and back. These disturbances resulted from a number of large parties within the complex. A number of the persons involved in this incident are believed to be from out of town and not residents of the complex. The London Police Service is asking members of the public to be aware when hosting a party that one may not be able to control who attends these parties and what activity takes place. Individuals hosting the party should be aware of the potential risks and liabilities of hosting such events as the consequences can be significant both criminally and civilly. This most recent activity poses a significant risk to public safety and the violence this past weekend could have easily resulted in a homicide. As a result Police will be proactively addressing these activities and are urging the public to notify Police if they observe unruly behaviour or crowds gathering. Police want to be proactive and discourage the formation of large gatherings before they escalate into violent disturbances. We are urging any witnesses from Saturday\'s incident to come forward with any information. Witnesses can call 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. |
